Twitter, the micro-blogging service has set up two great services for Twitter users to help celebrate the 2010 World Cup here in South Africa.
First off – a dedicated Twitter World Cup mini-site tracking all of the Tweets about specific countries, matches and all things World Cup related. Check it out right here: Twitter World Cup Site.
Then, to further enhance your Tweets, hash flag tags are here as well. Simply add a # in front of worldcup or any one of the 32 competing nations’ three letter country name, and your tag will display the appropriate national flag. And your Tweet will appear in the stream feed on the respective Twitter World Cup page as well.
Here’s the full list of flag hash tags:
#worldcup #alg #arg #aus #bra #chi #civ #cmr #den #eng #esp #fra #ger #gha #gre #hon #ita #jpn #kor #mex #ned #nga #nzl #par #por #prk #rsa #srb #svk #svn #sui #uru #usa
Here’s what they look like in action on Twitter:

Now go out there, and Tweet up a South Africa and World Cup storm – we want all 10 Trending Topics to be ours!! Hash tag everything with #WorldCup or #wc2010.
