On Saturday night 15 of my closest mates, my wife and I had the privilege of going to Die Blou Hond in Linden.blouhond

I have heard a lot about this place and we have been trying to get out there for a while. The fact that it was my birthday gave us a good an excuse as any.

WHAT A JOL! Philip and Susan have “done what they can” (entertain), with “what they have” (their house and tons of talent).

On the night, Philip performed his “4 Decades of Music” show, which turned into more like his Best Requests show! He had us ‘blaffing’ and ‘tjanking’ in the aisles, as is required at the venue! Susan put together a three course meal of which the mains had three options including a vegetarian one. The starter was a tomato and asparagus soup, was I surprised! I am not an asparagus fan but it worked very well in the tomato soup. I had the lamb stew for main course. It was tasty but maybe not the best option as most who had the chicken rated that very highly. Dessert was ice-cream and strawberries, always a hit I suppose.

Do yourself a favour and go visit Die Blou Hond, it is well worth it! Dinner is just R200.00 a head and a serious amount of drinks only added around R100.00 a head. Besides Philip’s performance, they also have plenty of art and CD’s for sale, as well as Susans’ best selling book “Oros vir die siel“.

Bookings are essential, especially as we get to end-of-the-year functions. Tell ‘em you heard about them at BlaBla and that Voted! sent you!
