In a statement on Formula1.com Reanult are to be investigated by the FIA for deliberately telling Nelson Piquet Jnr. to crash his car during the 2008 Inaugural Singapore Grand Prix.
This created a situation that brought the safety car out onto the track just after Fernando Alonso had refueled, thereby giving him track position behind the safety car. He went on to win the race.
Now in this digital age, were every single byte of information is recorded, surely Flavio Briatore was not that stupid? He knows very well that the FIA will gain access to audio recordings at least.
Piquet insisted he was just “pushing very hard” and lost the rear end into the wall. He has subsequently been dropped by Renault for “underperforming” this year. His story might change now that he is no longer employed by Renault.![Reblog this post [with Zemanta]](http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_e.png?x-id=4a717474-81cf-42d7-88c8-c6764d10d399)

Piquet Jnr.'s departure from Renault didn't seem to be all the happy, so I think you are right about his loyalties to the team now. May have confidentiallity contract issues still valid, but I'm sure he'll land up singing in a court situation.
Personally, Briattore has always struck me as an overly arrogant rich fool.
Do confidentiality clauses stand up when someone is summonsed to a court of law?
