Friday Photo 21: Grumpy Cape Buffalo

This Cape Buffalo was as mean as he looks in this shot. He was standing in the middle of the road, blocking the exit to the park, in the Aquila Safari Lodge. He forced our ranger to turn the vehicle around, and take a 10 minute detour while another vehicle was called in loaded with fodder to entice him away from the gate. He even mock charged the vehicle as we drove away.
His mean, grumpy demeanour instantly earned him the very apt nickname of “Gruffalo”. And that slobber around his mouth? No idea, but it just adds to his grumpiness.
This is the post I was trying to make when the site collapsed, so it’s not really a Friday Photo anymore I guess.
