2010 SOUTH AFRICA FIFA WORLD CUP™ News Round-up 31 May 2010
Good afternoon, and welcome to the unofficial news round up of the “You know when, You know were, You know who, You know what”™ (Yes I did ™ that)
Today is the last day the competing countries have to announce their 23 man squads for the World Cup. Alberto Pareira said that tonights game should have no effect on his choices.
Possible squad:
Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune (Kaizer Chiefs), Moeneeb Josephs (Orlando Pirates), Rowen Fernandez (Arminia Bielefeld, Germany)
Defenders: Siboniso Gaxa, Matthew Booth (both Mamelodi Sundowns), Lucas Thwala (Pirates), Aaron Mokoena (Portsmouth, England, captain), Bongani Khumalo (SuperSport), Siyabonga Sangweni (Golden Arrows), Tsepo Masilela (Maccabi Haifa, Israel), Bryce Moon (PAOK, Greece)
Midfielders: Steven Pienaar (Everton, England), Teko Modise (Pirates), Siphiwe Tshabalala, Reneilwe Letsholonyane (both Chiefs), Thanduyise Khuboni (Arrows), Kagisho Dikgacoi (Fulham, England), Macbeth Sibaya (Rubin Kazan, Russia), Surprise Moriri (Sundowns)
Strikers: Benni McCarthy (West Ham United, England), Katlego Mphela (Sundowns), Bernard Parker (FC Twente, Holland) and Siyabonga Nomvete (Moroka Swallows)

“It moves so much and makes it difficult to control. You jump up to head a cross and suddenly the ball will move and you miss it,” Pazzini said. “It is especially bad for the goalkeepers if it means they concede a goal because they can’t judge the trajectory.”
“There is no way to hide it,” Brazil midfielder Julio Baptista said. “It’s bad for the goalkeepers and it’s bad for us. It’s really bad. The players try to cross it and it goes to the opposite direction they intended it to go.”
Does this mean we can expect more goals than ever? Not if the strikers cannot control the flight path…..FIFA, think again….
AMERICA DUE TODAY
The AMERICAN team are due to land in SOUTH AFRICA later today. With a following who have reportedly purchase more than 120 000 of the international tickets it make them the second biggest buyers into this WORLD CUP. That might be why suddenly STARBUCKS COFFEE will be available in South Africa. So expect some prices to be in DOLLARS….
